Vacation leave accrues monthly based on years of service, starting at 9.375 hours per month (equivalent to 15 days/year) and increasing up to 18.75 hours per month (equivalent to 30 days/year) after 28 years. Unused vacation leave up to 262.5 hours (35 days) can be carried over; excess is paid out. Sick leave accrues at 9.375 hours per month. Family-related leave includes bereavement leave up to 7 consecutive calendar days or two periods totaling 5 working days plus travel days, maternity leave up to 18 weeks without pay with a maternity allowance topping up to 93% of weekly pay, parental leave options of 37 or 63 weeks without pay with corresponding parental allowances, and special allowances for disabled lawyers. Other leaves include leave without pay for family care (up to 5 years total), personal needs, relocation of spouse, court leave with pay, injury-on-duty leave, domestic violence leave up to 75 hours per fiscal year, and leave for traditional Indigenous practices (15 hours paid, 22.5 hours unpaid annually). Salaries are set according to a detailed pay grid effective May 10, 2021, with scheduled increases on May 10 of 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, resulting in a cumulative increase of approximately 13.14% over the term. Salary ranges vary by classification level (LP-00 to LP-05) and step, with LP-00 starting around $41,565 and LP-05 reaching up to $251,413 annually by 2025. Pay increments for LP-00 to LP-03 levels follow a lockstep system, with performance pay plans applicable to LP-01 to LP-05 levels, including lump-sum performance awards up to 7% for "Exceeds" and 4.6% for "Fully Meets" performance ratings. Overtime is compensated at 1.5 times the hourly rate after 37.5 hours per week for applicable levels. Standby duty is compensated at half an hour leave with pay per four-hour period, plus four hours leave for call-backs during the week. Meal expenses are reimbursed when working beyond normal hours or on rest days/holidays. Acting pay is provided when performing higher classification duties for six consecutive days or more.
