Benefits include vacation pay (ranging from 4% to 12% of regular wages based on years of service), sick leave (2 days/month up to 75 days), various paid and unpaid leaves (compassionate, union, maternity/parental/adoption, family medical, jury duty, sabbatical), and general holidays. Health and dental benefits are provided through the Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP), with 100% employer-paid premiums for health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance for eligible employees. Pension is provided through the Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP), with mandatory participation for qualifying employees. A Health Spending Account and Wellness Spending Account are provided ($50/month), and professional development funds are available. Employees using personal cell phones for work receive a $10/month allowance during the school year.

Compensation includes detailed salary grids for various classifications (Learning Commons Facilitator, Educational Assistant, Secretary, CTS Instructor, Accounting Administrator, Data Facilitator, Office Administrator, Youth Development Coach, Technology Facilitator) with annual increases. Overtime is paid at 1.5x the regular rate for hours over 7.5 per day or 37.5 per week. Employees may opt for time off in lieu at the same rate. Payment is monthly, with an option for a mid-month advance. Increments are based on hours worked and anniversary date. Grid placement for new hires is based on prior experience. Casual employees are paid at Step 1 of the grid. There are provisions for pay during general holidays and vacation pay is a percentage of regular wages based on years of service.

This collective agreement is between the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 5040 and the Foothills School Division. The agreement is effective from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2028. It covers terms and conditions of employment for unionized support staff within the division.
