compensation Summary

Salaries are structured in grid levels and steps, with annual, monthly, biweekly, and hourly rates specified in Appendix 1A. For example, Grid Level 1, Step 1 is $39,520.13 annually ($21.65/hour), and the grid increases up to Level 32, Step 5 at $113,017.15 annually ($61.90/hour) for a 35-hour workweek. Overtime is paid at time-and-a-half for the first two hours and double-time thereafter, with double-time for all hours on a day of rest. Shift premiums are $1.45/hour (afternoon) and $1.60/hour (night). Meal and travel allowances, vehicle mileage (56¢/km), and other expense reimbursements are detailed. Substitution pay, reclassification, and promotion rules are included. Minimum wage is BC Minimum Wage + 1.9%.

This collective agreement is between Maximus Canada Services (BC) Inc. (the Employer) and the B.C. General Employees’ Union (BCGEU, the Union). The agreement is effective from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2026. Either party may open bargaining after January 1, 2026, but not later than January 31, 2026. The agreement covers all unionized employees as defined in the certification and includes detailed articles on employment terms, rights, and obligations.
